Table of Contents
The Overview page provides a high-level snapshot of a Member’s daily activity, health, and safety signals. Each metric is calculated using data captured from connected devices, sensors, and alerts.
This article explains what each metric represents, what data is used, and an overview of how it’s calculated, so you can confidently understand what you’re seeing.
NOTE: Zemplee does not simply display raw sensor readings. Instead, collected data goes through a processing and curation step to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Before You Start: Member Types Matter
Metrics shown on the Overview page depend on how a Member is set up.
Activity-Only Members
Capture movement and room activity
Do not capture health metrics
Health-Only Members
Capture health metrics from connected devices
Limited or no activity-based metrics
Hybrid Members
Capture both activity and Health
Displays options for the full set of Overview metrics
Health Metrics
Health metrics use data collected from connected health devices over a 15-day lookback period.
Blood Pressure (mmHg)
What it shows: Recent blood pressure readings
How it’s calculated:
Pulled directly from connected devices
Pulled in daily and 15 day cycles
Some health data may appear as late as 15 days after a reading.
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
Temperature (°F)
What it shows: Body temperature readings
How it’s calculated:
Pulled from connected devices
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
Weight (lbs)
What it shows: Recorded body weight
How it’s calculated:
Pulled from connected devices
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
SpO₂ (%)
What it shows: Blood oxygen saturation
How it’s calculated:
Pulled from connected devices
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
Heart Rate (bpm)
What it shows: Heart rate readings
How it’s calculated:
Pulled from connected devices
Pulled in daily and 15 day cycles
Some health data may appear as late as 15 days after a reading.
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
Respiratory Rate (bpm)
What it shows: Breaths per minute
How it’s calculated:
Pulled from connected devices
Pulled in daily and 15 day cycles
Some health data may appear as late as 15 days after a reading.
Available for: Health and Hybrid Members
Sleep & Daily Routine Metrics
Sleep (Hours)
What it shows: Estimated total sleep duration
How it’s calculated:
Based on Bed Mat occupancy data
Calculates total time the bed is continuously occupied
Pulled in daily and 15 day cycles
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members with a Bed Mat installed
Wake-Up Time
What it shows: When the Member likely got out of bed
How it’s calculated:
Zemplee determines a Member’s wake-up time by looking for the strongest available signal that the person is up and active, in a specific order of reliability.
It starts with bed data (most accurate), then looks at alerts, then motion, and only falls back to a default (Out of Bed time in Alert Settings) if no activity is detected.
If the system detects that the person is out of the home, no wake-up time is recorded for that day.
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members with a Bed Mat installed
Movement & Room Activity Metrics
Bathroom Visits
What it shows: Number of bathroom visits in a day
How it’s calculated:
Uses motion sensor activity
A visit is counted when:
Motion is detected in the bathroom
No motion is detected in other rooms for a defined period
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members
Kitchen Visits
What it shows: Number of kitchen visits
How it’s calculated:
Uses the same logic as Bathroom Visits
Based on motion patterns detected in the kitchen
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members
Refrigerator Opens
What it shows: How often the refrigerator was accessed
How it’s calculated:
Counts open and close events from the refrigerator door sensor
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members with a refrigerator sensor installed
Safety Metrics
Falls
What it shows: Detected fall events
How it’s calculated:
Based on fall alerts generated by:
Alexa-triggered alerts
Daily Notes with recorded fall count
Each confirmed fall alert is counted
Available for: Activity and Hybrid Members
Why Some Metrics May Not Appear
A metric may be missing if:
The required device or sensor is not installed
No data was recorded during the period (or the extended 15 day cycle)
- Since some health data may appear as late as 15 days after a reading, please check back for health data.
