What Is the Out of Home (OOH) Alert?
The OOH alert is triggered when a member is suspected to have left their home. It combines motion inactivity with door activity to intelligently determine absence.

🔍 How It Works

Step 1: A No Motion alert is triggered (based on Motion Day/Night Time settings).

Step 2: The system checks if any Door Open alert or door open/close event occurred within a set timeframe (buffer).

If Yes: An Out of Home alert is triggered, the original No Motion alert is auto-resolved, and future No Motion alerts are suppressed until motion resumes.

If No: Only the original No Motion alert is sent—no OOH alert.

⚙️ Settings That Influence OOH Alerts

Motion Day/Night Time settings

Door Activity for Elopement settings (Day/Night)

Out of Home toggle

Only Entry/Exit doors (as marked in Device Settings) are considered

🧠 Smart Alert Logic: 3-Layer Validation

Threshold Rules: Basic trigger like No Motion

Contextual Parameters: Timeframe (buffer) based on Motion Day/Night Time settings and Door Activity for Elopement settings

Cross-Signal Correlation: Combines alerts and sensor activity to confirm alert necessity

🚨 For Care Teams

OOH alerts suggest the member may have left home—Zemplee doesn’t determine intent

Document findings in resolution notes

Treat as critical for high-risk members (e.g., potential elopement/wandering)

Use historical OOH alerts to understand member patterns

✅ Quick Tips

OOH alert = Info point, not emergency (currently Blue alert)

Suppresses redundant No Motion alerts

Action = Call or visit if needed based on context
